BURRDA SPORT has been re-appointed as Official Kit Supplier to The Workers Cup, with all participating teams wearing BURDDA SPORT team wear.
The Workers Cup, Qatar Stars League (QSL) and the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) have collaborated to engage with the football community and encourage all supporters of the beautiful game, regardless of their varying demographics, ethnicities and social standings to take part in the Workers Cup.
The Workers Cup tournament aims to use the power of football to encourage positive social change within Qatar. Every year workers from businesses in various commercial sectors of Qatar participate in the tournament to transcend the regular restraints of the working environment to challenge their colleagues and competitors.
The participating 32 teams are divided into 8 groups, with 4 teams in each group. Each team is guaranteed to play a minimum of 4 games throughout the qualification rounds from February with ultimately a winning team being decided at the Final on 31st March at Qatar Sports Club, where matches are being played throughout the tournament.
Nakheel Landscapes ultimately won the Workers’ Cup 2017, after beating Al Asmakh Facilities Management 3-0 in the final, which was played at Suhaim bin Hamad Stadium. After the final, the players were handed medals and a trophy by QSL CEO Hani Taleb Ballan, SC assistant secretary general Nasser al-Khater, SC’s chief of Advisory Unit and Special Projects Khalid al-Kubaisi, and Communication & Marketing director Hassan Rabia al-Kuwari.
